      <image:title>Work - Café Analog - App Design - Prototyping Process</image:title>
<image:caption>Prototypes of the app were designed in Figma. In Figma, wireframes were made pre-visual-design, which were used to uncover and discuss the functionality and flow of the app itself. Following this, graphical assets were made in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator, which were used to then build a hi-fi prototype in Figma. The hi-fi Figma prototype served as the base from which it was developed. Naturally, the developers were consulted continuously throughout the prototyping process, so that 1) they could begin working on researching the more tricky features before the design was “finished”, and 2) so that we could gain extremely valuable inputs on which aspects were technically feasible (or not!) for this development team.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Work - Café Analog - App Design - Cross-disciplinarity</image:title>
<image:caption>The app was made in a cross-collaboration with a team of developers and designers. As it was a volunteering team, most of the participants were baristas from the coffee shop themselves, which helped in providing valuable information e.g. which orders were the most common (or the most complicated). Through this, various scenarios (user-flows) were constructed, and used to test the functionality of the app. Furthermore, iterations of the app were continuously usability-tested on and by the coffee-drinking students at ITU. The overall aesthetics of the app was designed in collaboration with the Analog Graphics Team, to ensure a cohesive visual throughout the communication channels.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Through our observations, we found the main part of the participants are regulars, while a smaller group is either newcomers to the event or only participate sporadically. While there are always people from ITU Connect - the organizers - present at the event, they are mainly there to participate as players. Thus, there are no official hosts or designated individuals available to help and answer questions concerning the event, the games or rules. This is the role that our solution would fulfill.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Work - UX/UI Experiment - GoodReads - Notable interaction: The Quicklist.</image:title>
<image:caption>The Quicklist is a way of keeping tabs on books the user may want to review later, before choosing their next reading experience. The Quicklist therefore exists throughout all pages on the platform. It is accessible already from when you enter the frontpage for the first time. All books presented on the platform can be added to this list, to allow the user to quickly save the books for later review, without necessarily committing to “wanting to read it” (yet). It is a way of not having to open several tabs of books in a browser, as the user will not “lose” any books that they might find interesting, if they add them to the Quicklist. The Quicklist mimics the way one might take out several books and carry them around when browsing a bookstore or library, and then make a final decision on which books they want to buy/read a little later. The Quicklist can be managed as “special” collection in the Library, and interacted with through the pop-up available on all pages.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Work - UX/UI Experiment - GoodReads - Wireframing.</image:title>
<image:caption>Similarly to sketching, creating some preliminary wireframes allowed us an exploration into the dimensions and placement of various objects on the platform.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Work - UX/UI Experiment - GoodReads - Sketching.</image:title>
<image:caption>To get our initial ideas into the world, we created a number of sketches, exploring various aspects of the platform. This allowed us to quickly spot what worked and what didn’t, as well as to quickly iterate on the ideas that we preferred. In working collaboratively, sketching also allowed easier communication about our ideas, as explaining a visual idea can otherwise be difficult.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Work - UX/UI Experiment - GoodReads - Research.</image:title>
<image:caption>To explore, we conducted a broad brainstorming and research-session into several areas, such as what a reader may categorize (and choose) a book by, and how to design for nuanced search-queries with complex parameters. This included condensing the findings into customer profiles (jobs, pains and gains).</image:caption>

      <image:title>Work - UX/UI Experiment - GoodReads - Iteration.</image:title>
<image:caption>The process of design is often not a straight-forward line from “A” to “B”. The same can be said about this re-design, which went through multiple iterations. This is both in regards to the visual layout and the functionality.</image:caption>
